In mathematics, a series of numbers
consisting of a denumerably infinite sequence
of terms. The sequence n, n^2, n^3, ... gives
the series n + n^2 + n^3 + ... . For example,
1 + 2 + 3 + ... is a divergent infinite
arithmetic series, and 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1/2 +
... is a convergent infinite geometric series
whose sum to infinity is 16.
